You can now accept credit or debit card payment for any item you want to sell, without the need of any sort of device or POS system, creating more potential business.

You won’t have to handle cash thus avoiding security issues, cash deposit fees and the inconvenience of driving to, and standing in the queue at, the bank or ATM.

3PayMe is an excellent buyer vetting system and you won’t have to deal with time wasters as the amount requested will have been put up by the buyer before viewing the item.

You can request a partial payment to be paid through 3PayMe (which ensures a minimum payment value for the item) with the balance being negotiated when meeting with the buyer.

You won’t be bothered by people after the item has been sold as 3PayMe will indicate that the item has been sold and is no longer available.

The system can also be used by merchants who want to accept card payments but don’t have card facilities. Simply create a 3PayMe virtual sales tag and then create an actual sales tag with the 3PayMe tag code printed on it and then attach this to the item that’s for sale.

You can create private tags for a specific item or service and this tag will be made available via email or login only to the individual who will make the payment.

END

Payments can be made easily with a credit or debit card.

You avoid all the risks associated with making large cash withdrawals or negotiating with an unfamiliar person with a large amount of cash in your wallet or purse.

It is easy to ascertain if an item that is advertised across multiple classified adverts websites has been sold or if it is still available – so you won’t waste time on things already sold.

You can reserve an item that you want but which you can’t get to view right away by lodging a payment with 3PayMe (which is only released to the seller later under your control) and arranging to meet later when convenient.

If you decide not to purchase the item once you viewed it, you won’t be stuck with a large amount of cash that you have to deposit back into your account.

You won’t have the costs associated with withdrawing cash from the bank or ATM.

You control the effective release of the funds to the seller once you have met and you are happy with the item on sale.

No complicated internet banking or EFT transfers/money wires required.

You will accumulate credit and debit card loyalty scheme points by making a card payment for the item purchased whereas if you paid in cash you would not.

You won’t run into daily cash withdrawal limits at your ATM and you won’t have to stand in queues at the bank or the ATM.

END

As a Seller you simply go to 3PayMe, create a new Sales Tag and add your advert product description and the amount you want to be paid for the item.

3PayMe then generates a unique 8 digit Tag Code and gives you some payment instruction text and a hyperlink, which you simply copy and paste into your advert text on the classified adverts website you are using.

When the payment amount has been lodged on 3PayMe by a Buyer, you will immediately receive a confirmation email.

If you haven’t already done so, you and the Buyer will then arrange to meet.

Once the Buyer is sure they want the item you are selling, they will give you a Redeem Code in the same way they would previously have given you cash.

You just need to use the Get Money option on the 3PayMe website to enter the 8 digit Redeem Code given to you and the payment that was required for the item will be paid into your bank account.

END

When you want to make a payment for an item you want to buy, simply use the Pay A Tag option on the 3PayMe website and enter the 8 digit 3PayMe Tag Code that appears in the classified advert text (you may also be given the option to click on a link in the advert text).

This will show you the Sales Tag for the item (you can check that the description and price correspond to your expectations) and you can lodge your payment via instant EFT or using your debit or credit card.

Once your payment has been made you will be given an 8 digit Redeem Code that you will keep secret and eventually give to the Seller once your deal is concluded.

Once you have met with the Seller and confirmed that everything is in order, you can hand over the Redeem Code (in the same way that you would previously have handed over a wad of cash) and take ownership of the item.

If you do not want to conclude the transaction for whatever reason, then you have the option to cancel your tag payment and forfeit only the small transaction fee associated with the initial payment.

END

If you’re a Buyer then the great news is that 3PayMe does not cost you anything to use.

There are some fees associated with each transaction that is successfully concluded and these are paid for by the Seller.

The fees structure is based on a minimum fixed fee plus a small percentage of the value of the transaction.

The fee structure is like this because of the nature of the bank and transaction fees charged to 3PayMe to process the payments and make the payouts on conclusion of the transaction.

But it has been optimized to ensure a cost effective and consistently efficient charge across the range of transaction values.

Because there is a minimum fixed fee involved, we don’t allow transactions below a certain threshold as these just wouldn’t make good commercial sense for a Seller.

The fees for a transaction are calculated and shown when the Sales Tag is being created on 3PayMe and the Seller is clearly able to see how much money will be paid into their bank account once that tag has been paid for by a Buyer and the Seller has entered the Redeem Code using the “Get Money” function.

No fees are charged for creating a Sales Tag and fees are only ever paid via an agreed deduction from the amount paid for a particular Sales Tag.

If a payment is lodged against a Sales Tag by a Buyer and the Buyer decides that they no longer want to complete the transaction for whatever reason, then they can simply cancel their payment and this will be repaid to their bank account, less the transaction fee that was originally quoted to the Seller.

Unfortunately 3PayMe has to charge this small transaction fee because costs will have been incurred through charges from the bank and payment partners.

Must I register as a user to create Sales Tags ?

Yes you do need to so that we can ensure that you get your money when you redeem your Sales Tag and also so that we can keep all your tags together for you and give you the option to edit them or remove them or even email them to someone.

Must a Buyer register as a user to lodge a payment ?

No it’s not necessary, a Buyer can pay anonymously. But the Buyer must provide an email address and this must be verified before the payment process starts so that we are able to contact the Buyer in the unlikely event that something goes wrong with their payment.

How do I edit my Sales Tags ?

In order to edit one of your published Sales Tags, you must first click on the “Hide Tag” button so that someone can’t transact on the tag when you are busy with it. Then click on the “Edit Tag” button to make changes to the tag. Remember to click on “Publish Tag” when you are finished otherwise people won’t be able to access it to view or lodge payment.

What happens if I lose connection while making a payment ?

3PayMe will try to complete the payment process once your connection is re-established. If this takes too long and you were already connected to the PayU payment gateway, then the transaction may fail due to a timeout and you’ll need to start over. But you will be prompted all the way through with regards to what you need to do. If you’re not sure if a payment was processed successfully then check your email as you will have received a payment notification if the payment was processed.

Is the payment process safe and secure ?

Yes our platform is really safe. We run a secure SSL encrypted platform with a digital certificate supplied by Thawte. You will notice that our web address is preceded by https:// which indicates that we run a secure and safe environment. You’ll also see a little padlock on the left of the URL in your browser, which indicates the same.
Our payment platform provider is PayU and they are Visa and Mastercard approved and they carry all the certifications required in order to process card and EFT payments.
From our side, we don’t have access to your credit or debit card details and the bank account information you provide for your payments can only be used to put money into your account. We don’t have access at all to any of your passwords, pins or CVV numbers.

Introduction

This cancellation policy is for this website (www.3payme.com) and is served by 3PayMe (Proprietary) Limited.

This policy deals with the conditions under which 3PayMe services can be cancelled and the implications of such a cancellation.

Tag Cancellation by Tag Creator

A tag that has been created can be cancelled and removed from public visibility by the creator of the tag at any point in time unless another user has started or concluded the process of lodging a payment against that tag.

Valid tag cancellations by the tag creators have no commercial implication.

Tag Payment Cancellation by Anonymous User

Anonymous users that have completed a tag payment against a specific tag are only able to cancel that payment by contacting us at 3PayMe.

Our help desk will then process the cancellation request and ensure that the tag payment amount less the transaction fee, is returned to the payer.

Tag Payment Cancellation by Registered User

Registered users that have completed a tag payment as a payer against a specific tag are able to cancel that payment at any time prior to providing the redeem code for that tag to the seller who created the tag.

The tag payment amount less the transaction fee will be returned to the payer as soon as possible in the next payment cycle.

Tag Payment Cancellation once tag has been redeemed

It is not possible to cancel a tag payment once the redeem code for that tag has been submitted to the 3PayMe site and the payment for the tag has been allocated to the seller who created the tag.

Credit or Debit card payment process cancellation

The credit or debit card payment process is managed entirely by PayU, the selected payment partners for the 3PayMe service.

The card payment process may be cancelled by the user up to the point at which the payment process instruction is issued by them to the payment partner.

If the payment process is cancelled as described above then the payment will be aborted and the user will be returned to the 3PayMe platform without the payment having taken place.

END

3PayMe is a trusted third party payment escrow service that is simple and safe to use by Sellers and Buyers who would otherwise have to handle inconvenient wads of cash in order to transact with each other.

The co-founders of 3PayMe have over 40 years of experience developing software, products and services and they have brought this collective experience to bear on the as yet unsolved problems associated with cash payments in the classified adverts, online buy and sell and informal trade sectors

And because with 3PayMe, the Buyer controls when lodged payments are released to Sellers or Renters, the service can be used to pay for items bought or pay deposits for motor vehicles, motorcycles, scooters or even holiday houses and then can be used to pay the balance due for the same.

3PayMe also generates paperwork for transactions if needed and has some great by-product features, like being able to show if something has been sold or if it’s still available.

3PayMe is headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa and all operations are currently managed from here.
